The nearby mountains and forests are a great place to be for some peace of mind and tranquility. We went there for a cycle race. I did try to find stuff to do while there, but nothing jumped out at me as 'wow' - something you wouldn't see anywhere else. Small town with decent ammenities and lots of options for accomodation. Can recommend the Koffie Pot for an outing.
Also the Caltex Garage has a fresh stop, clean restrooms, atms and a seattle coffee shop. The town is surrounded by mountains and all other natural species. Different types of fruits and vegetables are available at very low prices. Less than an hour drive to Beitbridge border gate. The longest tunnel in South Africa namely Hendrik Verwoerd is a center of attractions for the tourists. I grew up in Louis Trichardt but did not visit the town during the past 35 years. It was great to be there although only for a night. I will take my family back to see more and to explore the surroundings.

The town itself I didn't like much of but the hidden gems like guest houses and hotels I recommend DEFINATLY had a lovely pizza at the mountain view hotel good value for money aswell, going up the pass you need eyes at the back of your head, otherwise lovely. The place is very peaceful yet adventurous and has the total feel of nature. We liked the fact that the lodge is eco friendly, it taught us how to save water and use less power.
The sundowner drive was the highlight of it all, Norman the driver took us on a great guided tour up the mountain, saw the big falls and a great view up.
