Whilst the waterfall, streams and meditation pool make for a calming and relaxing stay, there are also four pools and tennis courts for more active guests.
The estate also makes the perfect setting for a romantic wedding with stunning views. Camps Bay Retreat has just fifteen rooms and suites which are spread across three properties: the historical Earls Dyke Manor, stylish Villa and modern Deck House which is reached via a hanging bridge. All rooms are elegantly furnished and some have private decks - all have beautiful views over the grounds, mountain or ocean. The market boasts more than stalls selling a huge variety of local produce from arts and crafts to fashion, jewellery and authentic South African food.

We spent five nights here and found the staff very helpful.
DATE NIGHT OUT - Camps Bay Retreat
The old house is amazing and the bungalow type accommodation very good. Our access was via a rope bridge which was quite novel. The breakfasts were very nice but we thought the evening menu was limited so we ate out after the first night. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay but this was somewhat spoilt by a petty charge of 25 Rand when I broke a cheap wine glass in our room.

Filter reviews. My only lack was an outdoor area, but the verandah on the ground floor and the seating within the grounds gave ample opportunity to soak in nature. We ate breakfast, lunch and dinner at the resort and all were superb. It was particularly special to have an a la carte breakfast menu and not a buffet, added to the charm. Excellent dinner options and great wine list.
The resort was easy walking distance to the beach, shops and restaurants in Camps Bay. The staff were super welcoming and service was excellent, except perhaps a little strapped out at breakfast time. We particularly enjoyed our interaction with the friendly porter! Before I sing its praises, two potential hiccups: The hotel is elevated, so you'll need to walk up stairs or a hill, or use a car. Many of the rooms are across an old wooden bridge. There are two friendly, docile golden retrievers who live on the property. They have no problem sitting next to you during breakfast or cocktails.
