The sentinel peak hike takes you from the car park close to Witsieshoek to the top of the amphitheatre, where you can see the Tugela falls and breathtaking views. The hiking trail has been laid out with cement blocks which makes it more accessible and easier to hike. There are 2 chain ladders that you have to conquer to get to the top. An alternative is a gulley which takes about 45 minutes to climb.
Please note the hiking fees is R90 per person.

Very comfortable lodge in the most incredible location in the Drakensberg. A few steps away and you are in a natural wonder that's hard to describe. This is the highest accommodation in the Berg and gives you easy access to this astonishing wilderness area. The lodge is spotlessly clean, the beds comfortable, hot water is plentiful. The food is plain but quite adequate for after a hike or before setting off.
The views are spectacular.
