Awesome fun. We left at 6 am from Cape Town to see the snow. Please please leave this early or earlier. You have to have your permit by 11 to go and see the snow. You park at the parking lot then queue to get your permit which is R The toilet and permit queue was at least 1 hour long.
Take chairs to sit on when you get to the snow and alot of food because as weird as it is making a snowman makes u tired and hungry.
Actually is quite hard work. A tip is to take extra clean shoes and clothes for the kids or for yourself otherwise you will be wet and muddy the whole drive home. On our way back the people who decided to leave CT after breakfast had no idea what was in store for them.

About a 5hour traffic jam approx from Bainskloof all the way to Ceres. We tried to tell them to turn back. I really hope they listened. Plan for a whole day out if you are interested in seeing the deep snow, as it takes a while to get high up the mountain.

It was a sunny day so we were worried that the snow may have melted. There about 6 people in the queue but this was very efficiently handled. The more off road your vehicle the closer one would be able to drive to the snow. Our all road vehicle took us half way so we had a 20 minute walk and there it was, the snow.
