The Herbert Baker House is tastefully furnished in an old world style. Bethulie was a wonderful surprise and Bethulie Guest Farm is the place the place to stay when you explore this part of South Africa.
This quest house was amazing the furniture and decorations take you back in time. Kobous I would rate as the best quest house manager that I have met in our travels. Besides that it is an absalute bargain money wise. The host was very friendly and hospitable. He provided a wonderful evening meal for a reasonanble additional cost.
What a lovely surprise! Kobus was a wonderful host and his little surprise piano moment was absolutely beautiful. Then book yourself a night or two at Bethulie Guest Farm! Absolutely stunning old farm house with a long history in the very heart of rural South Africa. Spacious rooms with high ceilings, old style furniture, great English style breakfasts with selection of fresh fruits, and absolutely amazing ambiance of the past as a bonus.
If you are travelling by car this place is a natural stop. There is not much in the area except from a small town with one restaurant and few shops, but the place itself is very nice and it has its own atmosphere of old colonial farm. Our host - Kobus - was extremely nice and he made our stay even better! We also felt extremely safe there.
